2010 GE Edinburgh ITU Duathlon World Championships

Courses and Distances

The courses are still undergoing final approval and will appear here when they are available, this will include course profiles. The routes will be entirely contained within Holyrood Park using the internal park roads.

The bike course will follow the loop around Arthur's Seat which is a significantly long climb, with a steep and technical decent. The run will use the roads around the Scottish Parliment and "Dynamic Earth" exhibition venue, with one large hill per lap. The races will consist of multiple laps making the Edinburgh course one of the most challenging ever used for an ITU Duathlon World Championships.

Elite and U23

  • Run 1 - 10km
  • Cycle - 38.4km
  • Run 2 - 5km

Junior

  • Run 1 - 5km
  • Cycle - 21.2km
  • Run 2 - 2.5km

Age Group

  • Run 1 - 10km
  • Cycle - 41.6km
  • Run 2 - 5km

Paraduathlon

  • Run 1 - 5.75km
  • Cycle - 23.3km
  • Run 2 - 3km

In accordance with ITU rules the Elite, U23 and Junior races will be draft legal. The age group race will be non-drafting.
